Virtua Fighter 5 Revolution: Home version a possibility if players (really, really) want it
Last updated on October 7, 2008 - 21:05.
With Soulcalibur 4 and the upcoming Street Fighter IV the home consoles can already celebrate the year 2008 to be an the upside for fighting games after a long time. What's missing from this ensemble is Virtua Fighter 5: Revolution that was only released for the Japanese arcades in July this year. Kikizo and the German games magazine Man!ac (issue 11/08) recently interviewed the development director of AM2 Makoto Osaki about the newest installment in the Virtua Fighter franchise. And you know what: a home console version isn't unlikely if you are in for the game. more...

For Wii Adults only: Uber-violent MadWorld
Last updated on October 7, 2008 - 08:10.
Platinum Games' MadWorld wants to surprise with arcade-styled gameplay, unique graphics -- and murderous finishing moves. Comic book graphics in black and white and plenty of gore held in red serve as MadWorld's most characteristic feature. Due to the game's violent nature, SEGA's ultimate goal is to achieve an M rating from the ESRB, and they hope to be successful. Violent-sensitive countries like Germany or Australia, and MadWorld's native market, Japan, may even never see a release. more...

Sonic 2 HD runs at true HD, comes with tech-demo to try
Last updated on September 18, 2008 - 13:46.
At Xbox Live Arcade you can already download Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 "HD." But that's not what I mean. These are only copy ports of the original that also run a bit sloppy, without a steady framerate, and, thus, stand in no comparison to the fan-made project Sonic 2 HD running at a native resolution of 1280x960 at 60 FPS--that's even higher than what most "next-gen" games run at. The Sonic 2 HD team have released a first try-out version of their reverse-engineered HD revival Sonic 2 HD. more...

Happy Birthday, Dreamcast!
Last updated on September 9, 2008 - 22:12.
It's been quite a long time: On September 9 in 1999 you had been launched and sold most fabulously. In the first 24 hours of your launch, Sega made more than $98.4 million. When the Internet was on the rise, you supported it. You came along with full web-browsing capabilities, a modem, flash support, and many games to play online. We have to thank you for so much evolution in the console and games scene. more...

GC preview: Empire Total War
Last updated on August 27, 2008 - 09:45.
.At GC in Leipzig, we had an hour with Empire Total War. While the E3 presentation was about the Sea Battles (which are a nice addon in our opinion, but not what the Total War experience is. about), Land Battles were the focus at GC -- and we also learned a lot about the campaign mode. First of all, the release date is now set for February 6, 2009. more...
