GTA IV: First Patch Released

Germany — 

Rockstar has released the first patch for their best-selling action game Grand Theft Auto: IV. The patch addresses issues with the multiplayer modes, and is available for the Xbox 360 as well as the PlayStation 3 version of the game.

GTA IV Gets Firm Release Date

Rockstar Games, the premier label of Take-Two Interactive, confirmed that Grand Theft Auto IV will be released simultaneously for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 29, 2008.

This marks the first time that Rockstar has released a Grand Theft Auto console game on Microsoft’s console at the same time it is released for Sony’s console.

When it reviewed Manhunt 2, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) initially refused to rate the game, due to graphic and callous violence. The Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) initially awarded the game an "AO" (Adults Only) rating, a rating that would prevent most stores from stocking the game. Rockstar Games, the premier label of Take-Two Interactive, made some changes, including blurring some of the killing scenes. As a result, the ESRB revised its rating to an "M" (Mature).
