How does a game world end? Gamasutra´s Chris Remo was there when NCsoft´s Tabula Rasa was played for the very last time.
Following you find his description, complete and unabridged. See what an experience it is to see a world end.

Tabula Rasa: No endgame content due to end of game

img_3237_tabularasa (2).jpg
Germany —

Tabula Rasa, the newest MMO from Richard Garriott (of Ultima Online fame and therefore a pioneer of the genre that Blizzard by now dominates) was not really off to a very good start last year. After some major patches, many issues had been adressed and the small community slightly grew, but one of the major problems still was that the game ceased to be fun once you had a high-level character. Germany —

Back then, I would sign in about every day to explore the wide worlds of NCsoft's MMO with some companions: either real-life buddies or heroic NPCs. I was never much into PvP, but also not into PvE either. I somehow resented the idea to fight through each mission. There were other ways in Guild Wars to advance that I grew fond of: running right through the middle. more...

City of Heroes/City of Villains: Just Married!

city of heroes.jpg
Germany —

The superhero slash supervillain MMO's City of Heroes and City of Villains were up to now separated from each other. If you wanted to acces the villain world, you had to buy a retail copy of the respective game. If you rather felt like being the good-hearted superhero, you had to go for the equivalent. But you didn't have access to both worlds by only buying one of the two games. more...

Germany —

UPDATE: We've just learned that NCsoft, who will not be joining E3 in mid-July, plan to attend PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) in Seattle, which will start in 58 days, 23 hours and 23 minutes. Sadly, at this stage, the Guild Wars team is not giving interviews.

This may sound like a direct blow to the face of every Guild Wars fan out there: the Guild Wars 2 Beta has now been officially postponed to next year. It seems that the development of the subscription-free MMO is still in need of much more time. more...
