Cynical people could dub the Wii Zapper the best way to charge up to 40 Dollars for a piece of plastic that most propably costs less than 1 Dollar in manufacturing. But nice gamers like us insert the included Link's Crossbow Training party game into our Nintendo Wii -- to give you this video review. We also tell you what other games are compatible with the Zapper.
Tomorrow, the Wii Zapper will be released in Europe. Why it could be released in North America as early as November 20th is Nintendo's secret, but as it currently seems to be unavailable (prices on eBay or Amazon marketplace start at 40 dollars instead of the original 19,99), shortage of supply could be the answer. Amazon.co.uk is already out of stock -- before the actual release. All of this, of course, sounds very strange, because the Wii Zapper is nothing more than a intelligently crafted piece of plastic -- apart from a purely mechanical trigger (which will press down the Wii Controller's B button when pulled), there are no moving parts, there's no electronics whatsoever. You insert the Wii controller and the Nunchuk, you put away the cable connecting both in a compartment in the handle -- and suddenly you hold a gun in your hands. Or a crossbow. Or whatever your newest male power fantasy lets you believe...
Unpacking the Wii Zapper
Our first video (out of five) shows one of our editors unpacking the Wii Zapper. Don't mind his accent, please -- as you can see, we keep him in a dark, damp cellar most of the time...
Wii Games supporting the Zapper
1 The best game you can buy for the Wii Zapper at the moment is Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. It really feels good to aim at those zombies and remembering all those glory days in the arcades with similar games. (Capcom, $49.99) 2 The second place goes to Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. Do not expect a 3D shooter in the classical sense, you're moved from hotspot to hotspot by the game, so you are concentrating on aiming and firing. (Electronic Arts, $49.99) 3Ghost Squad is a simple shooter, don't buy it before you've played the first two games. And then think again, because its solo play time is quite short. (Sega, $29.99) 4 Although it's not officially dubbed "Wii Zapper compatible", Cabela's Big Game Hunter works quite well with the Wii Zapper -- as do most games which a) use the B button for shooting and b) do not use the rest of the buttons on the Wii Remote too much. (Activision, $49.99)

Ouch, that hurts! BTW, one guy left a comment on YouTube because I obviously said "Oh my gosh" in the multiplayer video. His comment was thought provoking and concise at the same time: "You suck".
I've now finally played with the wii zapper at a friend.
It's quite nice and reacts as good as I expected.
I owned at Link's Crossbow Training, among other things I got ~54k points on (I believe it was) 1-3 ^^
I like your videos, I think I will subscribe to them! Your accent is funny, but don't worry!
Back in the day, we didn't need fancy on-screen crosshairs for duckhunt... and the gun was way cooler. ;P
Very great videos.
I hope there will be released even more videos like these in the future.
Thank you guys! As the videos were surprisingly fun (and easy) to make, you might see more of them here in the future...
Well I don't mind the extra bracket in the first sentence but the "because one failure resets your multiplayer to 1. " on page 4 bugs me ;)Great review! So much work for a little piece of plastic :D
Jörg, I think your accent is funny in German, too ;) [no, don't hit me, just kidding!]

Psh, what did you expect?
Youtube is just another platform swarmed with trolls and little impolite kiddies.
Good videos, I especially like the 3rd person view.
