Activision says that its premium map content (the Variety Map Pack) for the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was downloaded more than one million times in the first nine days since it was launched. And each download cost 800 points. That’s quite a lot of money from extra downloadable content.

Activision says that from April 4 through April 12, gamers played around 30 million sessions (over more than 32 million hours, collectively). The new content hasn’t even been released for the PlayStation 3 – will Activision see similar results for Infinity Ward’s extra content when the Variety Map Pack is released for the PlayStation 3 on April 24.
