If you haven't already, take a look at the awesome new trailer of This is Vegas from Surreal Software here. The 8 minute long video is essentially a walkthrough in one of the clubs in the game. The player arrives at a dead beat club and turns it into the hottest party on the strip throughout the course of the video. This is done via a series of mini-games, like: running the bar, rhythm-dancing, keeping nerds out of the club and so on. "Drinks; dancing; dorks, got it!" The developers have stated on more then one occasion, that This is Vegas wants to capture the over-the-top vibe of the city, and this video really shows it. In This is Vegas the player is put into an open world environment and has to gamble, party, race and fight to keep a third party from turning the 'Sin City' into some family-friendly tourist-trap.

Hi Starkiller, I've added the picture and promoted the news to Top News. For lack of better topics, it even climbed to First News :-) + 15 EXP.
In terms of gameplay it seems very lame, unfinished, and strange in a "really not so good" way.
The game is still in an early development stage, it will come out at the end of this year before Christmas, so yes it's unfinished.
Yes you're right i will wait with my judgement untill it's out for sale or in a review or something.
Problem is I'am still waiting for a really real open world game, something with increddible detail and the whole spectrum of activies you can think of.
Will have to wait some 20 Years I think.
Why not create an account if you visit the site frequently? *hint hint* B-)
I would love such an open world as well, I think every gamer would, but I don't think it will ever happen. This is not about graphic cards, or CPU-Power, this is about how difficult this would be from a designers point of view, it would take decades to finish something like this.
And if we look back, games are not getting longer and longer, they are getting shorter, because it gets more and more complex to create up-to-date content.
