Xbox 360 Sales Double in Europe Following Price Cut

United States —

On March 14, Microsoft cut the price of the Xbox 360 in Europe. Now, Microsoft is gloating that since that cut, sales of the Xbox 360 in Europe have approximately doubled.

The company emphasized that the Xbox 360 owns 42% of life-to-date revenues for the latest generation of consoles (not exactly an even comparison, given how much earlier the console launched) and has the highest attach rate of any such console, with Europeans purchasing an average of 7 games per console.

The attach rate seems to be a lot worse in Germany, for example, the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed has sold more copies than the Xbox version -- but until beginning of 2008, there had been more sold Xbox 360s in Germany.

Even though the PS3 Creed version was so buggy it has sold more copies than the much more refined 360 version? Maaad world.
