FTC Still Investigating EA's Proposed Take-Two Interactive Acquisition

United States —

Electronic Arts has received a second request for information from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The FTC is working to determine if EA's proposed acquisition of Take-Two Interactive would be anti-competitive.

If the FTC were to conclude that EA's acquisition of Take-Two were anti-competitive, then it would block the merger or require EA to sell parts of its (or Take-Two Interactive's) business. EA emphasized that it does not believe the proposed transaction would be anti-competitive.

I think I read a few days ago that it was approved in Europe, is that correct?

You would have to be more specific concerning what you read -- offhand, you might be thinking of the proposed Vivendi/Activision combination that should produce Activision Blizzard.

You're absolutely right, I was thinking about Vivendi/Activision.
Thank You.
