At BlizCon 2007, Blizzard has officially announced today their second World of WarCraft addon, Wrath of the Lich King. The addon will open the wasteland of Northrend to high-level characters, where Arthas Menethil became the Lich King in the RTS WarCraft 3. Among the new features is the new Death Knight Hero Class, which you can create once your current character has met several challenges. The new level cap will be 80, the new "Inscription" profession will allow players to permanently enhance abilities or spells in the game. Battles are enhanced with Siege Weapons and destructible buildings. Also, players will be able to customize the looks (e.g. hair style) and gestures (e.g. dance animations) of their characters much more than before. The release date is not yet announced, Blizzard also is not sure whether there'll be an open beta or not.
