Thanks to a new trailer on the Mercenaries 2: World in Flames official site, EA and Pandemic have confirmed the release date for the game.
Mercenaries 2 should reach stores in North America on August 31, 2008. Like in the original game, Mercenaries 2 allows players to take a free approach to bringing in mercenary contracts, killing whomever and destroying whatever they like. Unlike the original, which was set in North Korea, this game takes place in Venezuela.
The game should be released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and PlayStation 2.

An interesting fact is, that the original Mercenaries was only released for Playstation2 and Xbox, this title will also be available for PC.
