United States —

CCP Games, the company behind the massively multiplayer online game Eve Online, has started the process of having players elect the Council of Stellar Management for Eve Online.

The Council of Stellar Management (CSM) will be a player body consisting of nine representatives and five alternates that will communicate with the developers at CCP Games to convey the wishes of the players to the developers. The CSM members will have to sign non-disclosure agreements with CCP Games, but will be privy to the inner workings of the game and will help the developers prioritize their time to ensure the players get what they most want and need.

Players can already start participating in the process by applying at the EVE Online site and the elections will actually take place May 5 through May 19.

I have played the game only for a week. It is colossal, hundreds of systems, you can travel for hours, the economy runs by itself, players produce stuff, players sell stuff, and so on.
It just takes so much time :)
But I think it's really cool that, after the econic system, now a political system run by players starts to form itself. Gaming 2.0!

Don't get too attached until Gaming gets patched to Gaming 2.01.
