Xbox 360: Hefty Price Cuts in EuropeXbox 360: Hefty Price Cuts in Europe
Last updated on March 26, 2008 - 21:13.
While Xbox 360 is the core gamers' platform of choice in North America, it has not been very successful in PC centric Germany. Even Halo 3 and other top titles didn't boost the Christmas sales in a noticeable way. So Microsoft's German division might profit exponentially from the Europe-wide price cut that the company has just announced. The following prices apply from Friday, March 14:
(actual US prices are $279.99, $349.99, $449.99) For comparison, a Wii in Germany costs 249,99 € (375 US$), the 40GB-PS3 is going for 399,99 € (600 US$).

I guess you inverted the exchange rate...
199,99€ = 307$
269,99€ = 414$
etc.
but great news anyway. I think I'll get me one for GTA IV. :)
Yes, very stupid error. Correcting it now. I've also added the actual US prices, so that it becomes clear that the old Euro prices equaled the Dollar values, so because of the exchange rate, the Xbox consoles were up to 50 % more expensive in Europe so far. Even after the price drop, they are still more expensive than in the US.
Yes the Euro is a "little" stronger than the Dollar.
369€ for the leet version, that's really affordable, but sticking to the PC is a matter of principle for me.
