Phil Harrison Leaves Sony

In a very brief announcement, Sony announced that Phil Harrison, the long-time President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, will depart Sony on February 29. At that point, Kazuo Hirai (President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. will temporarily take over Harrison’s responsibilities. Sony has not identified a long-term replacement, nor has any reason been given for Harrison’s departure.

Funny, I just met Harrison 6 days ago at GDC, he was coming from a Lunch with Dave Perry, Peter Molyneux, Raph Koster and other game designer VIPs. I'm not implying that this has anything to do with him leaving Sony, of course.

He has done a good job as VP ... and he is taller than all japanese guys at Sony.
