Sex Changes Are Cheaper and More Frequent Than Name ChangesSex Changes Are Cheaper and More Frequent Than Name ChangesPeople who are currently playing NCsoft’s massively multiplayer online game Lineage II can now change the name and gender of their characters (for a fee). Unlike the real world, in which a name is a lot easier to change than, say, your sex, it’s much less expensive to change the gender of a character in Lineage II. It only costs $10/€9 to change a character’s gender, and that can be done once per week. But it costs $30/€20 to change your character’s name, something that can only be done every six months.

Logical.
It has no impact on the game what gender you have but it has a big impact in a society under which name you are known.
I had the impression that more people talked to me in WOW when I played a female character. Could have been my imagination although, I admit ;)
It's in our nature to help females, we can't help it B-)
Only difference: you can't get laid in mmos ;)
There are stories out there, from people who met in WoW and got married later on, so I wouldn't rule it out entirely.
That's a different story and I'm sure that the avatar's sex didn't play a role in that and the people surely talked outside of wow too.
I'd wager that there were a few who didn't talk outside of WoW.^^
you would take a bet, that there are people out there, that got married legally, without ever having talked outside of WoW?
Ok, how much? :-D
I would take that bet, but then I'd have to find said people, which might prove difficult, without a WoW-account and all that.^^
Plus, I'm lazy. :P
Shame, I was looking forward to never having to work again :-D
Then again, there is a grain of doubt, Churches in Vegas get even the most craziest people married, so I guess, everything is possible.
True dat.
Hmm... to be honest, I only replied because I want to see how far the indentation will go. :D
<-- At least this far.
Your ad here
well, it starts looking kinda silly ;)
Too bad we didn't all post one-liners before.^^
I'll be back! (ultimate oneliner)
When, exactly? Oh, the suspense is killing me.
What do you think will happen when the replies start hitting the right side of the page?
The text should probably just get squashed into the next lines - not sure what will happen to the date and all that, though. Maybe that'll go a line down too, word for word, but what if the author's name is longer than the remaining space allows? Maybe the servers will implode! ;D
We're almost there. Maybe it will be different in different browsers. I use Opera.
Firefox here. I still think that the original Mozilla was the best browser, but there are no plugins for that, afaik.
I said I will be back., and here I am....tadaaa.
Well ok, it sounded more exciting in my head :)
Should it worry me that every second reply here is by me?
Mhm. You spend too much time here. Find a forum or browser game :D
Just kidding
Don't tempt me, I already spent most of yesterday playing tower defense games.^^
You can finish all tower defense flash game in no time. They aren't that many.
Well, there are at least a few...
Nice ressource for tower games ;)
So now we know that date and time and all that just move to a new line... let's see what happens to our nicknames. ;)
Do links get broken up into two pieces?

Hey, this topic is still alive, how exciting. Only a matter of time now before either the topic gets locked, or we get banned :)
I don't think that neither Jan or Jörg have seen this thread and I think they are curious too what will happen.
That's the only reason they haven't said anything and I don't think there is a possibility that we get banned ;)
It's probable though, that this experiment will be deleted after it has been finished.
Test... Test... Test..., Houston, do you copy?
Houston, the lab monkey ate my chocolate. All of it!
Damn it, I didn't train for years to be up here without any chocolate.
You need to send some up here, you really really have to.
Damn monkey....
Does chocolate taste any different in zero G?
Ask the monkey :(
Stupid Monkey!
The monkey didn't perform well on the tests, so I let him take a walk....without his little monkey spacesuit. Muhahahahahaaa
C'mon people! Don't give up so shortly before the finish line =)
I'm putting my money on a complete server meltdown.
A small step for a contributor, but a big step for our experiment.
//eta
damn it, it widenes!
Widenes? Is that Latin? :-D
My Browser usually is on my second monitor, which has a width of only 1280, so it's starting to look really ugly right about now.
I meant "it broadens".
My monitors width is only 1024 and it started to look ugly a long time ago.
Mine is also 1280, and I thought it stopped getting broader a few replies ago.
Good idea with the second monitor, btw, I should finally lug my reserve one in here... but I'd have to make room on my desk first.^^
Edith says: Now this post does look slightly weird.
I just ran fresh out of clever things to say at this point, so I simple state: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.
Be careful with that second monitor, once you go for two, you can never go back! It's addictive and you start to wonder how much more productive you could be with a third monitor.
I had an old one hooked up a while back, but that had a horribly small resolution... no fun at all.
Too bad not many games (only WiC that I know of) support two monitors.
Oh no Flo !
I have seen a website where they provide patches for a TON of games, so you can run them on 3 monitors!
Care to share that URL?
I would if I had it :(
If those patches worked online, I'd really have to consider getting another monitor. And a larger desk.^^
Buy a wall holder for your monitors. It really pays off!
Ha, finally I have found the link I meant:
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
Problem is, I have no wall behind my monitors. :D
Btw: I could only read your post by clicking the "reply" button, no bar for scrolling sideways. Fascinating.
Edit: And I can barely see my own post. I'm guessing the reply to this will be off screen, and I'll never find out what it says - unless I buy a larger monitor. ;)
Well I have a scrollbar (using Opera).
You should also be able to scroll if you select text and try to select out of the screen.
I agree, this is getting ugly, we should stop.
No Scrollbar for me with Firefox, no text dragging either, only way to read this, was to span the Browser above both monitors.
I agree, we should stop, I think we proved successfully that GG didn't explode.
Dear Reader, if you can read this, you have a BFD, a big fucking Display.
Hey, now that I have my old monitor hooked up, too, I can actually read all this stuff. w00t!
thanks for the link, a pity Fallout is not on their list.
I did try selecting the text, but in this case there was no scrolling as there is usually. Making the window smaller actually did let me see the first half of the first letters of the last comment, and let me copy and read the text, but even with a smaller window: no scrollbar.
I would have added this post to the others, but alas, the "reply" button was off screen. ;)
No thanks, you damaged the right side of my monitor! :-)
