THQ Cancels Games and FranchisesTHQ Cancels Games and FranchisesWhile updating investors in filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, THQ revealed that it plans to stop making games in two key franchises. THQ disclosed that it will incur a lot of costs related to cancelling certain games. THQ no longer plans to make games in the Stuntman and Juiced franchises. Apparently, those games (particularly the recent Stuntman: Ignition) haven’t sold as well as THQ hoped. THQ has also cancelled two unannounced games for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 that were planned for release in THQ’s fiscal 2010 year. That decision led to THQ closing down its Concrete Games studio that was hard at work on one of those games.
