As can be read on the German website http://www.gamestar.de/news/hardware/vermischtes/apple/1477056/apple.htm... , the highly discussed battery of Apple´s new Macbook Air can be changed without problems. The notion that the new macbook battery is fixed and cannot be changed, is highly discussed and many users did not appreciate this idea.
Now Apple states that it will not be problematic to change it and can be done in about three minutes (by someone who knows what he is doing).
The non-present optical drive therefore will remain highly discussed

I have an Acer Extensa without optical drive. A external one was included. And it is totally fine. Never missed my optical drive...

Means you either have to go to a repair service or open it yourself which means you lose all guarantee?
that is actually not clear yet. apple said that you can open and change it yourself with just one screwdriver. but they didn´t mention warrant stuff yet... i guess they didn´t think that so many people would complain about it^^
