Mod: Play StarCraft in 3D with Warcraft III EngineMod: Play StarCraft in 3D with Warcraft III Engine

Remember the WarCraft III easter egg (pictured above), with the StarCraft units from the original Blizzard RTS showing up in a short 3D sequence? Project Revolution does the same thing and more: Project Revolution is a WarCraft3: Frozen Throne Mod, that will turn StarCraft:BroodWar into 3D. The Mod will stay true to the original StarCraft:Broodwar. No Races will be added, no heroes, no Units or skills. Just plain old SC. In 3D.

Typo, easter egg.
Cool article! I'd like to see some ingame videos of this mod.
Thanks, fixed the typo.
For videos, check their Mod DB profile @ http://www.moddb.com/mods/3704/project-revolution/videos
So, how long will Blizz take this time to sue this mod away?
Ha! Sue them? They're more likely to hire them ;)
Have you seen the in game video? It's amazing.
didn´t play the mod, but i can´t imagine the mod to be as fast a game as starcraft was. just because of the wc3 engine and how the units function...... i´ll take a look on the video first, which i didn´t notice before^^
sorry, forgot to log in
I got to talk to the Project Revolution guys in 2006, and even a whole year-and-a-half ago Project Revolution was looking amazing (PC Gamer Magazine, the September 2006 issue (#152, p64)).
I was impressed at the time at how excited and competent the team was and how well such an early build played.
BTW, Toast - If Blizzard likes the mod, the best thing in the world they can do is not comment on it. They can't be seen endorsing such a thing (at risk of diminishing their right to protect their own property), but if they really wanted to kill the project I suspect they already would have done so. The Project Revolution guys made the sensible decision to require the Warcraft III disk and the StarCraft disks to work, so the mod dosn't diminish sales of anything (if anything, it encourages people to purchase more software). Besides, with StarCraft II on the way, Blizzard Fans have plenty to occupy them.
