Doug Lombardi: "Half-Life won't end at Episode 3" - Half Life 3?Doug Lombardi: "Half-Life won't end at Episode 3" - Half Life 3?

StuffWeLike.com spreads the rumor of a possible Half-Life 3 by interpreting a PR statement during an interview with Valve's Doug Lombardi. Concerning future plans after the release of Half-Life 2: Episode 2 he said: "We haven't announced anything specific, but Half-Life won't end at Episode 3 - Hang on to your crowbars!" - Now everybody can add their opinions whether that means "prequels", sequels, add-ons or whatever. StuffWeLike.com makes quite an effort (in several updates to their news) to establish full credibility of their sources and comments. No matter what Valve's next game will be called, the Half-Life community will be looking forward to it.

making episodes seemed to work quite well for them, so even if the current plot ends with Episode3, I'm pretty sure the next title will be called "Half-Life3 - Episode 1"
Hopefully, they won't name it Half-Life 3 - Episode I - Task A - Subplot 1.
One can only hope they can come up with something better, I didn't ,mean that literally, I just wanted to say that they will continue with episodic games.
Developing episodic games has got some advantages, though. You get games much more frequently and the developer is able to try and test out the one or other new format (see Portal). However, I thought Valve has stepped down from their episodic game making.
i liked all the half life games. i also like the episode style (ok, episode 1 is no contrast to episode 2), but i damn sure hope that they´ll abandon it after episode 3. i don´t think they will, but i´d rather wait five years for half life 3 if it reaches the quality of half life 2 as it got released. because three games of the same type with the same story is enough
There is one simple reason why I believe they will continue the episodic style: being able to charge customers 50 bucks once a year, compared to every 2 or three years. I don't say I approve, but I would do the same.
Little late, but still +10 EXP
