Even though the recent job openings kind of gave it away already, a Blizzard employee has now officially confirmed that a new MMO is in the works. Responding to a question on the official World of Warcraft boards he had this to say:
[...] it is an unannounced Next-Gen MMO. And that doesn't mean an expansion for World of Warcraft either.

yeah, a new blizzard game.........maybe diablo! juhu, yeeehaaa............but, but.........what is that? a new ONLINE game? damn, why can´t they just produce another good old single player game with huge multiplayer part, for free i mean
Exactly. MMO = pay to play, equals me not buying it.
If they ruin Diablo by making it an MMO, I am going to be so pissed. WoW is the absolute worst game I have ever seen. What happens when you take the crap that is Everquest and slap crappy, cartoonified graphics on it? An absolutely craptacular game that millions of morons bleed money into.
Over 8 million players seem to have fun with World of Warcraft so I don't think it's that crappy. Most games on the market have to be really really good to sell that many copies.
And for the crappy, cartoonified graphcis:
Ever thought about the facts that Blizzard wanted to take the style of Warcraft3 (which was great) over to World of Warcraft and still let players with moderate hardware play the game ??
Call me a fanboy if you want to but please stop calling people morons just because they play a game that you don't like.
