Early Bird: Shadowgrounds Survivor Release DateEarly Bird: Shadowgrounds Survivor Release Date

Surprise, Surprise. Christmas comes earlier this year for fans of top-down shooters. And this completely unexpected. Some weeks ago the finnish developers of Frozenbyte came up with the news that they would need some more time for finishing the sequel to Shadowgrounds and that it would not be possible to kick some alien ass before 2008. No fan of Shadowgrounds will now honestly complain about the surprising fact, that it was suddenly announced by Frozenbyte that Shadowgrounds: Survivor is ready for release and will be shipped in the US by December 1st. Via Steam it will actually already be available on November 14th, as can be seen here. Whoever pre-purchases this will get the full version of its predecessor for free and therefore two shooters for the cheap price of 20 USD (~17€). The localisation for the german market will, however, take some time and this is why everyone who wants to buy the game in a german store won't be able to do this before January 24th in 2008. This patience will be rewarded by a bonus level for the survival mode included in the game, as publisher CDV now made clear. The soundtrack of Ari Pulkkinnen, who composed the music for Shadowgrounds already, will be another bonus for the german version. The only thing left to hope is that the developers did a good and not too hasty job. Whoever is interested: My review of the first Shadowgrounds can be found here.

Yeeah!
Curious, how can they make profit if they give both games away for a mere 17 bucks o__O
That's also what I asked myself.
Probably they think that most people will buy it in a store and it could be a bit more expensive there; especially in Germany because of the special edition with bonus levels and soundtrack. But I am only doing guess-work here.
But keep in mind: Shadowgrounds was also mid-price when it was released.
Oh, I am really looking forward to playing the sequel. So let's just be happy about the small price. Happens rarely.
