Modding Tool: Rip In-Game Geometry with the Press of a ButtonModding Tool: Rip In-Game Geometry with the Press of a Button

3D Ripper DX enables you to rip all 3D information you see on-screen by the press of a button and have them ready for modding or editing in 3DS Max. It basically works like the print screen function, but rather than getting a 2D image, it's fully in 3D with all geometry, textures and shaders. It runs with DirectX 9 application such as Google Earth or games like Half-Life 2 and even Crysis -- images can be found at the mapcore.net forums. It's real easy: Start the tool, followed by the app or game, press a button and you're good to go. 3DS Max 5.0 up to 9.0 and Maya (Wavefront .OBJ file limitations apply) are supported. Version 1.5a is free for download (1,35 MByte). Be sure to check the developer homepage for a quick start guide or browse their forums for support.

Ouch, I see some stealing of game models coming in the future. This tool is basically reverse engineering.
sounds freaky, can't be long now until some figures from one game, show up in another game.
Nice news! Added an image and +20EXP.
Glad you like it. It's a great tool if you're into 3D editing and saves a lot of time.
