Midway Games has just announced that German players will be the first who can buy UT 3 on November 12th, one week before the launch in North America. Midways' general manager, Uwe Fürstenberg, said that "the German community was one of the main reasons for the success of the UT series so far, so this world-premiere is a thank you." While we're normally skeptical hearing marketing phrases like that, we can't think of a better reason. Since Unreal Tournament 3 has a German USK age rating of "16+", this is hardly a strategy to avoid early banning of the game (which also would only apply if a brutal game would be released earlier in the US).
