The weekend is save now.
You can say what you want about EA, how much they are milking the cow, or how little this has to do with the original NFS Titels, or even how little games change from one spawned entity to the next, but one thing you can't say is that they are not delivering quality.

And since this should be rather different to "Most Wanted" and "Carbon", there is not much to complain about.

Amen! ;)

NFS is huge fun, if you have a wheel, drinks and a couple of friends around.

I guess I'm doing it wrong then, I'm coming up with 1 out of 3, because all I have is drinks, and I'm still having a blast ;-)

But it has to be said, so I'll better get it out of my system, Nr.5 "Porsche" was the best.
(Only counting PC Titles and ignoring Motor City, which never made it to the market, Pro Street is NFS Nr. 11)

P.S. Anybody played the beta for Motor City? (still waiting for a similar game)

I'm shocked to read in the Wikipedia that Motor City actually made it to release...wow, I was so sure it was discarded before it ever came out, but maybe I just remember it that way because they decided to drop the NFS-Prefix due to the sub-standard of the title.

Too anybody who can remember that far back, 2001 was a Time where 56k-modems were still common...it was horrible, but I'm sure it made us stronger.

EA could actually sell Need for Speed under the EA Sports Label (not sure if they actually do ... but I hope not) since it shares a lot with all these games in that label:
The whole difference lies in the new title having a new number and/or other ridiculous title while actually being almost the same as the year before. The only reason some people buy FIFA 200x, NHl 200x, etc is that there is some change in the setup of the teams.

Paying 50 € every year for playing the (almost) same game again ? Not a chance.
