Since last thursday the demo of Colin McRae Rally for Mac is avaiable for download at the official Apple Website. The 343 MB large file needs at least 1.3 GB hard disk space. The game is shipping since October 26th.

Here's the official system requirements:

  1. Mac OS X version 10.4.8
  2. 1.6GHz Intel or PowerPC G4 processor
  3. 256MB of RAM (512MB recommended)
  4. 64MB video RAM (128MB recommended)
  5. 1.3GB hard disk space (4GB recommended
  6. DVD drive; Gamepad or steering wheel recommended

Well, after having a first look to the page, I figured it might be good to state some news for the underrepresented mac gaming scene. Hoping to keep it up...

Unfortunately the game won't be looking that amazing on my aged Macbook. :(

As a part-time mac user, I have looked for new demos from time to time, simply to see what little differences there are to the PC demos, and how slow my MacMini really is (well, it is...). And there are really not too many demos around! So thanks for pointing this out, all Mac gamers will appreciate the effort :-)

Unfortunately the demo isn't running on my Macbook. It says, that my graphics card is not supported. It's the Intel GMA 950! Poor me... :(
