Mortal Kombat 8 Coming to PC?
According to the Powered by Unreal Technology section over at Epic Games' website, the next part of the Mortal Kombat saga will show up on PCs. While Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the Unreal Engine title were as certain as Fatalities are fatal, seeing Mortal Kombat 8 for the PC would come as a surprise: Last time PC gamers we asked to "Finish Him", was with Mortal Kombat 4 in 1998.
Our goal, graphically, with [Mortal Kombat 8] is to be as gritty and—I don’t like to use the word "dirty," because I don’t want to imply not-cool graphics—but a very dark, serious Mortal Kombat. Not vibrant, saturated colors, but more of a really down and dirty Mortal Kombat game. To me, when I saw Gears of War, I was like, "Holy shit! hope it's true! couldn't hurt to have a fighting game on the pc platform.
amen! i remember spending countless hours, trying to figure out all secrets in mk1 and mk2 back then. the parts that came after that ... meh.
but it seems quite reasonable to have mk8 on pcs, if it's using unreal tech.
AFAIK Microsoft has provided a Game API which renders the games made with it playable on Xbox360 and WindowsXP so why should you not make a game available on PC, when you make it for Xbox360, anyway?
On Topic: I love MK and hope we get more beat'em-ups for the PC.
