Gears of War PC Goes GoldGears of War PC Goes Gold
Last updated on October 20, 2007 - 23:06.
The PC version of Epic's third person shooter is gold and will hit retail stores at November 6th. There are several additions compared to the Xbox360 counterpart. You will get all stuff from the Xbox 360 + 5 new singleplayer chapters, a new Annex multiplayer game mode, 3 new multiplayer maps, and a game editor (the first using Unreal 3 technology). The five new single player missions form an additional act (between the "old" acts 4 and 5); you and your team are being attacked by a giant creature called Brumak, which only had a side role in the Xbox 360 version. Gears of War PC will support Microsofts Live-Service for match making. If you have not played the Xbox360 version, which was one of the defining must-have-games for the console one year ago, the game should be worth a try.

is there a demo coming?
So far, there seem to be no (official) plans.
A demo would be really great. I guess I'll wait a while before I grab my hands on this one, although the console version seemed to be very well.
The console version was pretty well done, and utmost optimized for the Xbox 360 (just as Lost Planet, which runs, btw, terribly on almost every PC). I think it's a shame that this PC port comes so late - especially at a time where the market gets flooded with above-average shooters of all kinds. Epic - 2 months earlier, and you'd have gotten a blast of players paying for it. But now ...
