EA Bringing Madden Football to Hispanic FansEA Bringing Madden Football to Hispanic Fans

Electronic Arts has always released its FIFA games in a number of languages to appeal to fans of soccer (for the Americans – football to nearly everyone else). But EA's American football games have typically catered straight to the English-speaking audience. This December, EA plans to release its flagship Madden game in Spanish. Madden NFL '08 en Espanol will be released late this year in North America to cater to Spanish-speaking football fans, but only for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2. This version will include special Spanish content, play-by-play commentary in Spanish and a different soundtrack. It will feature Luis Castillo, a San Diego Chargers defensive end from the Dominican Republic, on the cover. EA's decision to reach out to its Hispanic football fans both indicates EA's desire to broaden its audience, and the increasing importance of the Hispanic gamer community in North America
