Brütal Legend and a New World Record
Everyone knows it, the English are crazy to their bones. A recent event, hosted by Electronic Arts, now actually made the crazyness worthwhile and cleared the way to an entry in the Guiness Book of World Records.
Fans of the upcoming music-action-jumble Brütal Legend gathered in Donington Park, England, to give a jam session on their air guitars. You wonder where the record is? Well, there´ve never been more people at once, who simultaneously played the air guitar (in this case 440). The mood was set by the legendary rock band Motörhead.
TV presentor Christian Stevenson said:
That was one of the raddest jams I've ever been involved with. The crowd played their air guitars better than Eddie Van Halen! Then they destroyed 'em good and proper. Who cares, right? They can go to the air guitar shop and get another one. Sick to the infinity of sickness! I want a crowd like that at every gig I'm at. Awesometacular – air guitar world records rule!
In case you´re wondering, the former world record was at 318 people playing their imaginary guitars simultaneously. Let´s all hope that Brütal Legend will cause just as much ecstacy.
