At E3, we had the chance of seeing Silent Hill Shattered Memories "behind closed doors" (well, there *was* a door, and it was closed, not locked, though...) -- presented by Lead Designer Sam Barlow. The game (for Wii, PSP and PS2) is more than a remake of the very first Silent Hill, sporting many enhancements. Of course, there's (we've seen the Wii version) a brand-new interface, you're manipulating things directly, and fight off enemies "physically" (by frantically waving the Nunchuck). In the beginning, there's an assessment of your playing style (or rather your own scares, at least in a video game), and the game tracks your behaviour througout the adventure, to see how to frighten you in the best way. Many things are dynamic: Where the next scare is waiting (although you might have seen the scene already), and even when exactly the ice world transforms Silent Hill into an enclosed ghost town.
Our 10 minutes long interview has many game scenes, and as Sam Barlow is showing us the game, there's probably no better way to have an in-depth first look on Silent Hill Shattered Memories apart from attending E3 yourself...
