It seems that developing studio GSC Game World plans to release another stand-alone expansion to their S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise.

The expansion carries the subtitle Call of Pripyat and is supposed to hit the market within 2009. Fans just have to hope that the developers focus a bit more on the quality assurance this time, seeing that the first expansion Clear Sky was host to myriad glitches last year.

Also, a full sequel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, was mentioned, though no details were given to this subject.

Some fans are still hoping to see the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise debut on consoles, but no comments were made in this direction.
