Blizzard Denies Involvement with Microsoft

Germany —

Last week, various websites reported that Blizzard would be involved in discussions with Microsoft about the Xbox 360 successor.

Back then, Rob Pardo of Blizzard said:

There are are so many games like we make at Blizzard that we don't take to consoles because they don't support the input device and you end up with crappy ports. That's why RTS games never do well on consoles.

If I was them, I'd be sitting around trying to figure out what's a cool input device that supports all types of new kinds of games.

However, Blizzard now denied the involvement with Microsoft and its next console.

We aren't in discussions with Microsoft regarding any future consoles.

According to Blizzard officials, Rob Pardo merely noted that "Microsoft occasionally bounces ideas off of us, with no specific reference to any possible future consoles."

With allegedly 5 games in development at present times, it remains to be seen whether or not Blizzard actually releases a console game. The last port they made was Starcraft for the Nintendo 64.
