NXE: New Avatar Clothing Theme Packs to Be Free

Two days ago, the new 360 Interface called the New Xbox Experience was released (see our hires video). Despite what we feared the new theme packs for the NXE Avatar Editor are going to be a) free of charge, and b) released in the next few weeks. Xbox Germany product manager Boris Schneider-Johne confirms on his blog:

"More costumes will be made available for free in the next weeks. What's going to happen as of spring is yet to be announced. If you spot Avatars that wear clothes not yet available in the Avatar Editor, those belong to beta testers who were allowed to test ALL the new clothes beforehand (for instance my chic Xbox Jersey)."

I would pay for some more gamespecific clothing. Wouldn't buy all crap out there but i couldn't withstand a "vault-tec jumpsuit".

I think that's also part of Microsoft's strategy. While the new game packs are free, game-specific clothing might not. BTW, if you buy the Ninja Blade premium theme you'll gain some neat ninja clothes.

I think they should have either you buy game-specific clothing or like when you unlock a specific achievement for a game you get a specific item or outfit of clothing :P

Microsoft should have made it so you can choose the colours of your clothes as well because some of them would look so much better in different colours. game specific clothing would be ok but then its not unique if your going round dressed as Marcus Fenix (Gears) or Laura Croft. If they do bring out clothes that you get from achievements that would be awesome, it would give games more reasons to replay them. either way Im loving the N,X,E, I love the way you can make your avatar burp and pull faces and the new lay out of the dash board and mini dash are execellent.

At least you can pick fancy colors for your hairstyle now, you just gotta unlock it:

  1. Go to the Avatar Editor's "Change My Features" section.
  2. Highlight hairstyles icon in the "My Features" area.
  3. After one minute the icon will spin -- the sign that you have unlocked the additional "fancy" hair colors.
  4. Now the new colors are available. Simply browse through the hairstyles.

I Wouldn't Pay For Clothes If They Were Just Normal But If They Were Costume Or Something From Games I Would Like COG Armour Or Issac Clarke's Suit From Dead Space. It Would Be A Gd Idea I Think.
