Fable fans and those who pre-ordered Fable 2 because of the online coop mode felt irritated when they heard that Fable 2 would not feature a fully working online coop mode at the game's launch (see news here). Time to relax, fellow Fable-arians: The Lionhead guys have worked hard to make sure the patch is ready for you to download when loading up the game at its release, October 21 (Oct. 24 for our European, and Oct. 18th for our Japanese gamers) ... if, if, if ... It looks like we've done it...for all of you who are connected to Xbox Live, when starting up your copy of Fable II (on 21st October in USA, 24th October in Europe and 18th December in Japan). ... IF there wouldn't be a catch (as always). Sam says: "Taken into account we don't fail certification!" I'm sure they did a good job, because Fable is an important Xbox franchise (ok, there was a pc version a long time after the Xbox release). Besides everyone know about the co-op problem and its importance so they simply have to keep their promise.
I hope there will be a PC Version of Fable II as well in a year from now.
Just thinking aloud here, but I did notice that a lot of games do have these release-day-patches these days. Could it just be measure to ensure that chipped consoles won't have the full feature list?
