The fast food franchise Burger King surprised gamers when it released a series of three Burger King-themed games in late 2006. The chain now hopes to extend its marketing and gaming success to mobile phones.

Burger King made a big splash with gamers and advertisers alike when it demonstrated the success of promotional games by releasing Sneak King, Pocketbike Racer and Big Bumpin’ for the 2006 holiday season. Despite the games' poor critical reception, these bargain games brought huge numbers of gamers into Burger King restaurants and brought the Burger King brand to the forefront of gamers' minds.

Recently, Burger King signed an agreement with Seattle-based mobile content company Mobliss that will see Mobliss create a series of Burger King-themed mobile games. The first such game will be released in the first half of 2008 and will have gamers performing tasks in a Burger King-style city to gain the favor of the Burger King himself.
