Fall Update Preparations: Xbox Services Down on Sep 29

In preparation of the new Fall Update for the Xbox 360--the New Xbox Experience--Xbox Live and Xbox.com will be down on Monday, September 29 for up to 24 hours, from 12:01 AM PST (7:01 AM GMT) on.

The official announcement (as sent via private message to every Xbox 360 Live account) reads as follows:

Xbox Live and Xbox.com will be offline on Monday, 9/29/2008 from 12:01 AM PST up to 24 hours. This service maintenance will allow us to bring some exciting new features and functionality to you this holiday through the New Xbox Experience.
If Microsoft already prepares their Xbox online services for the new features, then that certainly means that the release of the new update is drawing closer and closer. Last word had it that we could reckon with a release of the New Xbox Experience in November.
