WoW Wraith of the Lich King out on November 13WoW Wraith of the Lich King out on November 13

That's the news, thank you. No, there's a little bit more: While World of WarCraft fans will be able to buy the addon Wrath of the Lich King in North America, Europe, Argentinia, Chile and Russia on November 13, other parts of the world have to wait a little bit longer. November 14 is the day for Australia, New Zealand, Singapure, Malaysia and Thailand, November 18 will see the WoW addicts in Korea seek new adventures, together with the people in the "territories" of Taiwan, Hongkong and Macau. When WoW Lich King will be available in the mainland of China has apparently not been decided, yet. In the remotely possible case you haven't heard about the story of Wrath of the Lich King, yet, please read on: The Lich King is really Arthas Menethil, an important character from the realtime-strategy game WarCraft 3, or rather its add-on Frozen Throne. He will be the big bad-ass (excuse the language, please) in the game, and you will fight his minions on the new continent Northend across various regions like the Borean Tundra or the Icecrown Glacier. The level cap will be increased from 70 to 80 by the add-on, and there will be a new system to measure the success of players. Also, there will be siege weapons, destructible buildings and a new hero class: the necromantic Death Knight. What's interesting is that the game will be published for Windows Vista / XP as well as Macintosh's OS at the same time. The standard version will retail for 34,99 Euro in Europe and 39,99 Dollar in North America. The deluxe edition with the usual near-useless but "if you're a real fan you simply have to have them" additions like an audio CD and a mousepad will retail for 69,99 Euro.

When I was reading about this earlier today, this was still in the world of rumors. But apparently this changed while I was busy playing Call of Duty 4 (what a great game!). I'm not sure if I will buy the new add-on, I don't play WoW very much anyway and still haven't been to the regions of Burning Crusade. Right now, Guild Wars is once again the MMO I like the most, but: this could change in some days when Warhammer Online is coming out. I'm definitely going to try that, and even if it is only for the Warhammer setting and world I get more and more interested in lately.
If you would please excuse me now: I need to go on with saving the world from a nuclear disaster. ;)
CoD 4 is a great game, or rather an interactive action movie. It took me just three days, but these hours were a lot of fun.
I don't play WOW anymore, but I hope Blizzard has a good to cope with all the wow-natics on the first day
YEAH, COUNT ME IN. ACTUALLY, THE AUSSIES GET IT ON NOV 13, TOO (OUR TIME). DAMN, THAT MEANS THAT THE RUSSIANS REALLY HAVE IT ON NOV 12!
Your Caps lock is on
I am just one click away from you. So don't shout.
That has always been the case for WoW as far as I know — or even for all Blizzard games if I'm not mistaken. For WoW it's actually the same disc for Windows and Mac OS.
Hi Michael, you're correct, and it will be the same disc for WoW Lich King, too, as far as I know. Still, Macintosh and PC at the same time is remarkable: In the past and even today for many publishers, Macintosh games have been / are released many months or even years after the PC version. If at all. But some publishers, EA among them (see Spore!), seem to read "PC" more in the original meaning "Personal Computer" than as "Windows Computer". Which can be a good thing, given how weak a platform the PC has become worldwide, at least for retail games without a subscription model...
