LucasArts: No PC version of The Force Unleashed planned

LucasArts: No PC version of The Force Unleashed planned

Germany —

New old rumors came up that LucasArts' newest Star Wars installment The Force Unleashed may be released for PC as well. Pixelux Entertainment, the creators behind the physics of the game, said at the nVision 08: "We have a PC version [of The Force Unleashed] as well." However, this wasn't confirmed by LucasArts at all. According to Blue's News, LucasArts commented on this remark with the unmistakable denial that "there is no PC version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed planned."

Perhaps PC gamers don't have to be too sad about it. As our demo impressions on GamersGlobal hinted: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed might not become the long-anticipated LucasArts Star Wars revival hit.

Isn't this essentially "olds"?

Yes, if Pixelux wouldn't have stirred up the rumoresque cuisine about a PC version once more.

Maybe you could modify the news, adding that they have already stated the same thing earlier, and maybe fleshing out the part about the rumour. If there is anything more than that one sentence, that is. ;)

If you read Leonard's demo impressions it's not such a bad thing LucasArts won't make a pc version. :-)

I did that back when he posted them, and it really surprised me. Probably because the only thing I ever saw of the game was the polished trailer, and then I lost interest when they announced that it'd be console exclusive. But it is something of a relief to know I'm not missing anything. ;)

Its a pity. I was really looking forward using the NIA thingy with this game.

Hopefully the developers of the future are using more cross-platform-capable engines, so theres not too much overhead in releasing stuff for more platforms. I mean, when looking at Source Engine titles, i get the impression that its not a big deal for them to make it run on Xbox, PC and PS3.
