ScummVM is a virtual machine with which you can play certain classic point-and-click adventures on a more current-gen platform. With this sort of emulator, awesome classics like Sam & Max Hit the Road, Simon the Sorcerer, and more can be easily resurrected on almost any system of your choice. The newest ScummVM v0.12.0 even runs on the Wii and GameCube now. Other supported platforms worth noting: Windows, Mac OS X, iPhone, PS2, PSP, Dreamcast, Fedora, and more. For a full compatibility list of supported games, and how well they perform with ScummVM, see here.

For people like me, who are wii-tarded, I'm sorry I mean wiily challenged, how does one copy this onto the Wii and get it to run, isn't that a closed system?
Good question. I'd bet through the Twilight Hack that doesn't require a modded Wii, and is, above that, safe. Here is a complete ScummVM how-to for the Wii.
