Starcraft 2 "should" release in 2009

Germany —

In Auckland, New Zealand, Activision-Blizzard are currently holding the Activate Asia Pacific conference, which is only important for retailers, but this little detail might be of interest to RTS gamers world-wide:

Next year's offerings from Activision Blizzard should include highly anticipated PC strategy title StarCraft II, the sequel to one of the world's most enduringly popular games.

Of course, this is no definite release date--and StarCraft 2 will most likely be postponed at least three times--but it is Blizzard so everyone will want to know this. As well, it is the first official statement about the release of StarCraft 2.

Oh wow, I did not expect this, I would have bet money that they would release it this Christmas, I guess I would have lost. Well, we do have a lot of publishers rushing releases, good thing Blizzard is not one of them.

As far as I can remember, not a single Blizzard game was released before christmas. Starcraft in spring, Diablo 2 in summer, Warcraft 3 in summer.
It seems they don't really care :)

Oh, Diablo 1 was in stores at christmas...

According to Wikipedia Diablo1 came out on 2 January, where did you get your information from?

I just remembered that I played the Demo before christmas, but maybe the Demo was released early on. Wiki should be correct. So no Diablo under Christmas trees :)

No, no. It's just... I still cannot understand why people love this kind of games. Sorry, that was no critic.

Because they rock, they have style, and you can play them against your friends for years and they never get boring...

Okay, I've played WarCraft 3 + add-on and StarCraft and I didn't understand why people liked them and why they got so unbelievable high rankings. But your opinion's okay, of course.
