Mad World is too violent for Germany

Mad World is too violent for Germany

Germany —

Sega's new Wii-exclusive action game Mad World won't be released in Germany. Its extremely violent content seems to be the reason for Sega's decision. They don't want to change the gameplay of their anticipated title.

Well, this doesn't really come as a surprise. It was already near insane that Sega decided to show it at this year's Games Convention.

So every reporter from TV had a violent game to show the masses,

I think it just would not sell enough to justify the effort changing everything. A lot of people get it from other countries anyway...

I think that I could well be one of those people when it comes to "Mad World". I'm not a "gorehound", for example I think that the Manhunt series is really not doing any good for the reputation of gamers and I think that they just go a bit too far with what they do. After all, it's a rather realistic setting. But although Mad World's use of violence is also just frickin' crazy, I think that it is nevertheless completely different. You can't take it serious, it is completely out of this world.

You're right. Mad World is very violent, but it is clearly a comic world. The figures in the game look like people, but every child in kindergarten understands they're just drawn by a painter.

yup, big difference. I found Manhunt to be just disturbing and it's just a bad game with bad gameplay, if it weren't so violent, nobody would even talk about it.

Mad World looked more like an art experiment, with everything being B&W (except the red fluid) and the part with thowing humans on a big dart-board looked just comically. Trailer btw.
