Ben Cousins has news about Battlefield Heroes

Germany —

In an interview with gamesindustry.biz, DICE's creative director Ben Cousins explained their free-to-play online shooter Battlefield Heroes is effectively "already out." He says they focus on a large closed beta. This will help them a lot, so they won't "[...] turn on a switch one day and suddenly their audience gets 100 times bigger." Cousins adds that every hardcore gamer will probably be able to get a key if he wants to.

I've got an account on the website and I'm really looking forward to the game, although it's simple.

So you did get a key?

No, I think they have every week one beta key contest. I've got my account since Monday, so I wasn't able to solve one of their riddles.

Thanks, but I'm sure it will be heard. Usually after three minutes the beta keys have new owners :(

Why do you have to solve a riddle? Sound pretty exclusive to me, as if only very few would actually get a key. The news said something about everybody being able to get one if they wanted to.

Ben Cousins is a really stupid name, nearly as stupid as Ben Fathers.

I think he's an importat person at Dice. Creative Director. It seems lots of brits work there. Three Mirror's Edge-producers, one Bad Company producer, BF: Heroes' lead designer...
