New adventure game: The Westerner 2New adventure game: The Westerner 2
Last updated on August 23, 2008 - 05:54.
In 2004, a small Spanish developer called Revistronic released the original "The Westerner" , which was a funny point-'n-click adventure ... of course it took place in the wild west. The game got good critics and during the last years lots of good adventures showed that the genre isn't dead. So it is not a big surprise that the developer wanted to make a sequel. We had to wait, but now it's public that we'll get one very soon. The second "Westerner" game still has comic graphics (even though they're darker this time) and the old hero: Fenimore Filmore. But of course Revistronic planned new elements, too: a second playable character (the cow-girl Rhiannon) and shooting-sequences. The game will be released in October.

Actually it's the third game. The real first westerner game came with the "to be said" first westener game and was a 2d adventure.
But the westerner had a lot of bugs and seemed unfinished to me.
You're right. The first Fenimore Filmore game was "3 Skulls of the Toltecs", but it was definitely not as popular as "The Westerner". Well, actually I didn't like the game too, but the big magazines thought "The Westerner" was one of those better, new adventures (like Runaway).
I liked "The Westerner" a lot. One of the best adventures I've played during the last years.
I loved Runaway. Okay, not every puzzle was logical, but the characters and the scenarios were more interesting than the wild west.
Hey Vincent, congratz again, you're rising through our ranks fairly quickly, but when you love Runaway, you can't possibly be really 14, right, or can you?
I would also think so. One of his favourite films is Magnolia (my favourite movie of all time), and well: I just wouldn't think that 14 year olds can already be into arthouse movies that much. Or can they? That would be a real surprise for me.
They can. I'm 14 and yes my interests are not usual for my age. I think I played two years ago and I already understood the humour ;)
Wow crazy, at our next campfire, you have to tell the story how someone like you, fluent in 2 languages and watching fringe group movies, ended up here :-)
That's quite simple: English is my best subject in school (I had a good teacher for three years, bute my actual teacher is... not good), my ex-maths teacher (sounds a bit crazy, I know) has a big collection of independent films and a longer time ago I thought this is a young new platform which is probably better than the most German game sites ( I read GameStar, so I know Jörg Langer, so I know joergspielt.de...), now I ended up here :)
there we go, and we didn't even need a campfire. Your loss, there would have been marshmallows :-)
I never liked marshmallows ;)
