Russian WoW from August 6

Germany —

From August 6, there will be a Russian version of World of WarCraft, Blizzard has announced. From that day, European players can buy WoW and the addon Burning Crusade with all dialogues translated, and with a Russian customer support. The game will be availabe for Windows XP/Vista and Mac OS X10.3.9, and will come in two versions: As a CD version (at a lower price) with 2 free weeks of playing time included, and the DVD version with the standard one month of included playing time. After that, and if players want to play on Russian servers (they still can subscribe to other servers, paying in Euro), they will pay 359 Roubles per month (or 329 Roubles when subscribing for 3 or 299 Roubles when subscribing for 6 months).

If you are Russian and are already playing WoW, you can download the Russian version via the website www.warcraft.ru. Also, for a limited time, there will be a free character transfer from other European servers to certain Russian servers. Also, "European" accounts can be transformed into "Russian" accounts. All in all, it seems that Blizzard Entertainment considers the Russian market to be important. (Apart from the English version, there are German, French, and Spanish versions of WoW in Europe.)
