E3: Microsoft Games Cancels Bungie's E3 AnnouncementE3: Microsoft Games Cancels Bungie's E3 Announcement
Last updated on July 17, 2008 - 06:22.
Tick-tock, tick-tock. Time was ticking out, and the highly anticipated Bungie announcement soon to be viewed by tens of thousands of fans. But then: nothing. The announcement, without getting viewed by the public, was removed with an explanation that plans had been changed by Bungie's publisher Microsoft Game Studios. The official excuse reads like that: Bungie President Harold Ryan wrote:
For the last several months, we've been building toward a reveal of something exciting that Bungie is working on. We were looking forward to sharing that with our fan community during the week of E3. However, those plans were just changed by our publisher. Also, at the EA (not Microsoft) press conference on Tuesday, shortly before it started, we overheard a Bungie employee (who was very aggrevated) loudly complain about the non-announcement. We wondered whether it's really a coincidence that, at the same day, Microsoft confirmed on MTV Multiplayer that Bungie Studios work on a new Halo project being neither Peter Jackson's upcoming Halo movie, nor Halo Wars?

well, can't wait to find out what really happend, but building up to this annoucement for month and then pulling the plug just isn't good PR, not for Bungie, nor for Microsoft Game Studios.
