UPDATE: A title update for Vegas 2, that you will be prompted to once you load up the game, is available now. It includes the same game changes & additions that were announced in the Fan Pack. The new free maps can also be downloaded now. The Fan Pack has been renamed to Gift Pack DLC.

Ubisoft has announced a free title upgrade for the Xbox 360 and PC version of their first-person shooter Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. Dated for July, the so-called Fan Pack could prove to be interesting not only for veteran gamers. The new Fan Pack will contain new features, options, and various gameplay tweaks.

NEW FEATURES:

1. Three free maps: Dark version of Murdertown and CQB Training (same map layout but with more diverse lightning effects); back from Vegas 2: Calypso Casino with new textures and lightning
2. 80 new A.C.E.S levels
3. 99 new Elite ranks for hardcore enthusiasts

NEW GAMEPLAY TWEAKS:

1. Grenade indicators appear when inside damage radius
2. Slightly increased C4 detonation speed
3. Increased explosion delay of incendiary grenades (that still detonate quicker than frags though)
4. Much faster zooming with weapons

NEW HIGH STAKES GAMEPLAY MODE:

1. More for the veteran players: High Stakes is a host option for more authentic VS matches
2. Hard core cover system: players now have to peek around the corner from cover to see what's beneath them.
3. Disabled aim assistance
4. Players start with less gadgets and fire arm clips
5. Less merciful bullet spread while moving and firing (forces players to zoom in more often)
6. Player screen now turns black-and-white if close to death
7. No health regeneration in High Stakes
8. No radar and grenade indicator
9. Friendly fire is always enabled
10. Kill camera is always disabled

MORE HOST OPTIONS:

1. Allow voice communication while dead
2. Enable/disable random respawn

The list of new additions and tweaks looks pretty decent. Especially the new elite High Stakes mode, A.C.E.S & ranks, and the new host options will prove valuable to Vegas gamers who seek new challenges or finally want to turn off the random respawns while hosting.
