Xbox 360: Microsoft Releases DRM-License Transfer GuideXbox 360: Microsoft Releases DRM-License Transfer Guide
Last updated on June 29, 2008 - 14:04.
Time to cheer up, Xbox 360 fans. If you belong to the not-so-small group of people who experienced the infamous Red Rings of Death, and got your kaputt Xbox 360 replaced, or even upgraded your console, then it is now possible for you to carry your DRM content licenses (for arcade games, and videos) onto your new console much more quickly now. Microsoft has released a DRM Tansfer Guide with which you can transfer your game or video licenses from your old Xbox 360 to your new one in just two simple steps without phoning Microsoft's customer service. The DRM licenses saved to your console allow you to enjoy your downloaded arcade games, and videos while being offline with your Xbox 360. All you need is your console signed in to your Xbox Live account, and a computer with a connection to the Internet. For further instructions watch Major Nelson's tutorial video where he explains how simple it is to transfer the licenses, or simply go to Microsoft's site Transferring Content Licenses to a New Console yourself which also welcomes you with a step-by-step manual on how to do it.
