Surprise, surprise, there will be Pro Evo Soccer 2009

When you have a successful football series (or soccer, for our American readers), of course you bring out a new game every year. Not so Konami, which just "officially announced" PES 2009 today, as if not sure until now. Apart from the usual graphical overhaul, players will get "new moves", "innovative controls" and apparently a lot of customization options. Alas, nothing more specific was announced, so the big question of the Pro-Evo-series remains: What licences of individual players and teams will be in there? While PES 2007 and 2008 were thought by many to be superior to EA's competing Fifa series in terms of realistic gameplay, in terms of licences PES couldn't compete, it didn't even come close. PES 2009 is scheduled for a fall 2008 release, on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and PSP.
