Germany —

The first game in the episodic series of Penny Arcade Adventures, originally only planned to be distributed via Penny Arcade-founded site Greenhouse, is now also available on Valve's Steam platform. This Steam version will have an exclusive feature by adding some achievements to the game.

The price you'll have to pay for that is 20 USD ( 10 Euro). For console gamers the game is also available on XBox Live Arcade for 1600 Microsoft points.

In the first installment of the RPG-Adventure game series you play alongside heroes Gabe and Tycho (known from the Penny Arcade comic strips) in the not so lovely town New Arcadia, back in the 1920's. They are not the only characters fans of the comics will meet while fighting with the help of a dynamic turn-based combat system and trying to solve mysteries.

You certainly should be a fan of the typical humour the series calls its own, and then you could well have a good time playing it, although you will likely stumble over quite some major design flaws which led to a rather low metacritic score of only 77/100.

But you could certainly show off by stating to your friends that you just purchased a new game and by then responding to the question "Which one is it?" with giving the full name Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness without stopping to take a deep breath. Try to do it within three seconds if you want to challenge yourself.

That's actually another achievement on its own, that is. Brought to you by GamersGlobal.
