Duke Nukem Forever: It won't take forever (new in-game footage)

Duke Nukem Forever: It won't take forever (new in-game footage)

Germany —

The fanpages were buzzing about it the last few days and now, it is really online. The first new impressions from Duke Nukem Forever since the E3 in 2001. The Jace Hall Show got an exclusive interview with George Broussard and Scott Miller of 3D Realms.

In this video, which is quite a lot of fun to watch, you can actually see a few scenes from the new game. The Duke Nukem Forever footage starts around 4:20. If the server is too crowded, or if you don't want to see all the tattle before the scenes, Youtube has it as well.

According to our user Tetsuo, 3D Realms claims that the game footage is not from a very recent version. This and more can be found on the official Duke4 website.

Of course, we yet can't tell if the game will be cool or boring, but at least, Duke Nukem Forever is running on a computer, they seem to get closer to a release. And when will that be?

When it's done.

Well what i saw wasn't much but i've got a feeling that this won't be a revolution for the genre. Okay maybe nobody intended that in the first place but somehow i still hope for a revolution ... sight.

Just a little side info. The Footage shown in this show is actually a version of DNF that is quite a few months old and doesn´t represent the actual status of the game. This has been officially mentioned by George Broussard (3DR Chief).
Actually the footage is pretty old as Jace Hall is a good friend of the 3DR-Staff and he had to wait quite a time before he was allowed to release this footage.
Nevertheless the ingame-scenes remain awesome and really remind me of the goold old DN3D times when me and my friends played 1on1´s for hours on end via a serial connection ^^

Also i´ve got to say that i really love 3DR and their attitude. They are so far of this whole marketing, $$$, bling-bling attitude most game-developers, studios and publishers are nowadays all about. They just want to make the greatest game they possibly can and live up to "their" expectations for a successor for DN3D. They don´t give a shit about the whole "you suck", "it´ll never gonna be released", "when i´ts done it will be bullcrap"-flamewars.

I´m so looking forward to this game.

Sad but true: Amazon already cancelled my preorder from 2001 :(

Tetsuo, thanks for the info on the age of the video footage. Do you have a link to a source where George Broussard is cited on this matter?

It´s all on the official 3DR Forums. But a summary of the most interesting questions/answers can be found here -> http://www.duke4.net/news.php?extend.193

I´d have edited the news myself, but as i´ve been too lazy to really sit down and contribute my own news to GG i seriously lack EXP ;)
I think i need to reconsider this and start contributing as i really love the concept and appreciate all the work and time you guys invested to form this project.
